Clocking in and out of a job is an important part of working extra-duty jobs. It’s the first step in calculating how many hours you worked (and how much you’ll get paid!), and it gives your vendors peace of mind to know that you clocked-in or out of a job when you were onsite.
When you tap the button to clock in or out of a job, the RollKall mobile app temporarily accesses your phone’s location to ensure you are within a designated range of the job location. When you’re within range, you will be able to clock in or out of the job.
The expanded clock in and out feature now allows officers to view their location relative to the job location. The RollKall mobile app only accesses the officer’s location when clocking in or out.
Occasionally, technical issues or limited service can cause the officer’s phone to appear away from the job location even when they are at the correct location. If this happens, the officer can provide a reason for clocking in while appearing away from the job location and continue to work the job as normal.
This feature displays the map view of your location only when clocking-in or -out when offsite of the job location; if onsite, you will be clocked-in or -out immediately and seamlessly without the map view.
