Hourly Restrictions are used by agencies to prevent officer fatigue by making sure officers don't work too many off-duty hours, in addition to their scheduled shift hours with the agency, in a given time.
As of July, 2023, the agency's period for calculating these hours may run in any combination of the following timeframes:
These can be adjusted by an agency administrator in the agency settings.
Flex Jobs are a type of job in RollKall that allow officers to work for any portion of a job's scheduled hours. Flex jobs are also factored into an officer's hourly limit calculation.
When hourly restrictions are in use, there are two ways that these restrictions can be overridden for exceptional circumstances:
NOTE: Officer override is only available to officers who are using version 3.0.6 of the RollKall mobile app or higher. If an officer does not have access to this feature, they may need to update their app.
If exceptions are allowed, officers will be required to acknowledge when they will break their hourly limits by checking a box.
Administrators also have the ability to override hourly limits. When this happens, an entry is made to the applicant log with details on how many hours the officer had before and after the override.
